Hempstead NY 1873 Maps with Businesses and Homeowners Names Shown

This is a 3 map set which shows where some of the homeowners resided in  Hempstead, Queens County, New York in 1873. These fine maps were recently reproduced on fine natural color parchment and are  11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat.

Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of some of the homeowners of Hempstead. Due to large areas covered by the maps, many of the names of the homeowners aren't shown and some are quite small. The first map shows a large area of the South part of Hempstead. The second map shows the Village of Hempstead.  The third map (not shown)  shows the ocean area of Jamaica Bay and contains an inset map of Rockaway Beach. Truly a great matching set. Some of the surnames which are printed are Searing, Thorne, Bennet, Longman, Mulford, Smith, Griffin, Post, Nichols, Ingraham, Powell and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools, businesses, churches, cemeteries, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
