Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of the town of Putnam. The first map contains the villages of Pomfret, Pomfret Landing, East Putnam and Putnam. Some of the points of interest or features of this map are Quinebaug River, Five Mile River, The Norwich and Worcester Railroad and The Boston-Hartford and Erie Railroad. The second map shows the village of Putnam Center which also shows the many homeowners and  businesses and contains a business directory.
Due to the limited size of my scanner bed, portions of the maps may not be shown.  Please check out the pictures provided for greater detail!
Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Comstock, Williams, Talbot, Dresser, Carpenter, Coville, Potter, Farmer, Cotton, Bruce, Grant and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools, named streets, railroads and rivers/streams.
This set would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors or to see who owned your home back then!
