This listing is for a rare, vintage bottle of "Le No. 1 De Rallet" perfume, Ca. 1923. This bottle (0.20 fl oz) is still sealed, and has never been opened. It still retains the original thread, tied around the stopper. It comes complete with both pieces of it's original box, and it's labels are in fantastic shape, compared to other known examples. The bottle is free of any chips, cracks, fleabites, repairs, or other damage.
No. 1 De Rallet is a very significant fragrance in the history of perfumery, because it directly facilitated the development of Chanel No. 5. It was the first perfume to make use of Aldehydes to help eliminate the "fatty" notes of jasmine, which was thought to be impossible at the time. Chanel later used this discovery to formulate Chanel No. 5, one of the most iconic fragrances in history.
